Fahrenheit 451

I wanted to recreate the look of a classic piece of literature. Using Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 I wanted to create a better ‘flow’ to the book since it originally had no chapter breaks. 2011

I chose to use coptic binding to create a book with no spine in order to see the showcase the beautiful binding technique.

The inside cover of the book. I used a hand-made paper from Manny’s Art supplies in New Paltz, New York.

Re-designed title of Fahrenheit 451.

A page included in the original book.

Since the original book was written without chapters I created a table of contents to reflect the breaks in the story.

Each “chapter” had a unique image highlighting a significant moment using text from the section.
